Harry Lee Swims

Mr. Harry Lee Swims, age 70, of Henderson Bend Road, Calhoun, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2006, at his home. He was born in West Virginia in August 22, 1936, son of the late Sylvester and Faye Belle Booth Swims, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcella Sheppard.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Frankie Janice Swims; one son, Harry Lee Swims, Jr., and Jeannie Heath of Calhoun; six daughters; Lea Angela Neitermayer and Travis Smith of Resaca, Teskola Swims, Debbie McRee and her husband Tony, Joyce Dress and her husband Peter, Denice Bohannan and her husband Anthony, all of Calhoun, and Julie Adams and Danny Herndon of Conway, South Carolina. Five brothers; Billy Swims and his wife Connie, Gerald Swims and his wife Evon, and David Swims and his wife Karen, all of West Virginia; Donald Swims of Ohio, and Larry Swims and his wife Lynn of Virginia. Five sisters; Stella Wilson of Calhoun, Gladys Briant and her husband Harrald of Ohio, Alice Strickland and Rosella Hobbs of Alabama, and Ruby Creech of West Virginia. Eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Harry Lee Swims will be conducted at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 24, in the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Dwayne Shaddix officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include William Hobbs, Darrin Hudgins, Mickey Dress, Matt Bowman, Chris Brown, and Ricky Garnett. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, between the hours of 4:00pm and 9:00pm.
