Obituary

Harry Howard Young, 87, of Fairmount, died Monday, October 18, 2021. He was born on December 22, 1933 to the late Howard Starling Young and Ethlyn Shirley Young. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Lorraine Young; and grandchildren, Dawson Smith and Stephen Young.
Harry was a graduate of North GA College. He proudly served his country for two years in the United States Army. During that time he served in Korea and attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Harry was the business owner of Young Bros. Logging LLC. Prior to his logging career, he was District Manager of W.T. Grant.
Harry is survived by his children, Tim Young (Jan), Michael Young (Monique), Janet Smith (Ralph); siblings, Norman Dale Young and Shirley Wright; grandchildren, Ashley Bradley, Andrew Young, Taylor Stagner, Lindsey Smith, Jordan Smith; great-grandchildren, Skylar Holland and Bailey Bradley; and honorary granddaughter, Sarah-Anne Arthur.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Sonoraville Baptist Church with Rev. Jamey Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Sonoraville Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Phil Roland, Mickey Moore, Andrew Young, Skylar Holland, Ryan Stagner, and John Arthur.
