Obituary
Mr. Harry Clay Welchel, 65, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Pruitt Health Care in Lafayette, GA.
Harry was born in Bartow County, Georgia on December 29, 1955, the son of the late William and Cloma Collum Welchel, in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Teresa Scott and Elaine Cook; brother, David Earl Collum; sister-in-law, Peggy Welchel. He attended Red Bud School and was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include his partner of 23 years, Roberta Welchel, five daughters, Mary (Michael) Hunter, Misty McClure, Christy Stewart, Jennifer (Scotty) Rigney, Beatrice (Shane) Shelley; sons, Jeremy Welchel, Chris (Lauren) Johnson, Jason Johnson, Matthew Johnson; sisters, Carrie Faye Turner, Regina Welchel (Brian Mattis; brothers, Larry Ray Welchel and Rodney (Carol) Welchel; grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Dimitrie Miller, Brittany Long, Clay Stewart, Chase Stewart, Konner Johnson, Abel Johnson, Riley Johnson, Brandi, Lynn Napier, Danielle Napier, Raider Shelley, Annolivia Shelly, and Isabella Johnson; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Harry Clay Welchel will be conducted on Tuesday, October 19th at 4:30 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service. The family asks that flowers be omitted and contributions be made in Harrys memory to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
