Glenda Ellen Tapp

Mrs. Glenda Ellen Tapp age 69 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday November 14, 2006 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Gordon County on April 22,1937, daughter of the late George W. Jones and the late Lillie Naomi Jones. She was retired from Shaw Industries and was preceded in death by two sons; John Bennett and Wayne Bennett, one grandson Harry Bates, three brothers; James Jones, Paul Jones and C.L. Harrison and by one sister Etta Blansit.

Survivors include her husband, Charles W. Tapp of Calhoun. Two daughters; Sulynn Bates of Lakeland, Florida and Charlotte Baker of Calhoun. One step-son Jimmy Tapp; Four brothers and sister-in-laws; C.M. Harrison of Calhoun, Marvin and Patty Jones of Calhoun, Charles and Maxine Jones of Maysville, GA, Lamar Jones of Greenville, N.C.. Four sisters and a brother-in-law; Ellen Jackson of Hartwell, GA, Lula Jones and Virginia Mills both of Santa Rosa, California and Irene and Lamar Hunsicker of Fort Myers, Fla. Ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Glenda Ellen Tapp will be conducted Thursday November 16, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Skates officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers serving will include Jeff Harrison, Randall Harrison, Don Harrison, Kenneth Jackson, David Jackson, Andy Jones, Jimmy Phifer and James Roberts. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Wednesday after 5:00 p.m.
