Obituary

Gerald Jones, 58, of the Fairmount community, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021. He was born on December 27, 1962, to the late Sammy Lamar and Betty Jean Jones. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Thelma Davis; brother-in-law, Eddie Patton; aunts, Annie Mae Bright and Mary Masters; grandparents, Mary and John Jackson.
Gerald was a well-loved man, who made friends easily. He worked 25 years for Textile Management Associates.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sheila Davis Jones; daughter, Sonya Coleman (Jeff), grandchildren, Suzanne Hammontree (Will Smithey) and their children Waylon and Weston, Sophia Hammontree; sister, Cheryl Jones; nephews, Geramy Jones, Adam McAffee (Pamela) and their daughter Layla, Markia McAfee; father-in-law, JR Davis; sisters-in-law, Patricia Silvers (Calvin), Diane Wheeler (Larry), Rita Patton, Darlene Bearden (Mike); brother-in-law, Lamar Thomas (Patricia). His close friend, Edward "Bear" Kendrick and many others survive.
To honor his wishes, Geralds body was cremated and all services are private.
