Gayla Annette Self

Gayla Annette Self, 75, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Gordon County, Georgia on September 8, 1948, to the late William and Jean Moss Cochran.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry E. Self, Sr.; brother, Teddy Richard Cochran; stepdaughter, Tammy Osborne.

She is survived by her son, Michael Todd Holden; daughters, Lori Mechelle Blalock, Katrina Evette Cronin, Angelia Renae Stone; stepson, Larry Self, Jr.; stepdaughters, Misty Insley-Self, Melissa Spikes; brothers and sister-in-law, Douglas Lamar (Kay) Cochran, David Charles Cochran, Gary Michael Cochran; grandchildren, Abigail Sartin of Maurice, Louisiana, Caroline Abney of Rome, Georgia, Cody Holden of Marietta, Georgia, Hunter Holden of Jonesboro, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Jarrod Cochran, Jeremy Cochran, Aaron Cochran, Caleb Cochran, Jennifer Townsend, Keith Cochran, and Derrick Cochran.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons with Chaplain Craig Miles officiating.  Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.  Pallbearers serving are Derrick Cochran, Keith Cochran, Gary Silvers, Julito A. Velazquez, and Julio E. Velazquez.

The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the loving care they provided during this time.
