Gary P. Chastain

Mr. Gary P. Chastain, age 56, of Plainville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Bartow County on March 2, 1950, son of the late Jesse Lee and Ollie Ruth Wheeler Chastain. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a veteran of the US Army.

Mr. Chastain is survived by his wife; Mary Peace Chastain; three sons; Tracy Phil Chastain of Augusta, Steven Lee Chastain of Plainville, and Brian Chastain of Calhoun; one daughter; Kimberly Johnson of Dalton; one brother; Dwayne Chastain of Marietta; and one sister; Joan Moore of Calhoun. Six grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Gary Chastain will be conducted on Saturday, October 7, at 1:00pm at New Life Ministries in Adairsville, with Rev(s) Steve Morrow, Maynard Thomas, and Jerry Gaddis officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Brian Johnson, Roger Thomas, Michael Chastain, Richard Whitlock, Jamie Burns, Travis Wells, Justin Edwards, and Chad Bohannon. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00pm. Honorary pallbearers will include Rachel Kilgore, Timothy Chastain, Chris Pack, Terry Rushing, and T.J. Rushing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
