Mr. Freddie Lamar Faith, 66, of Fairmount, Georgia died Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Piedmont Mountain Hospital in Jasper surrounded by his family and favorite cousins following a brief illness.

Freddie was born in Gordon County, son of the late Charles Faith and Bessie Lee Walraven Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Shane Cassell.

Freddie was a member of the 1976 graduating class of Calhoun High School and was a kicker for the Yellow Jacket football team. In his later years, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and rooting for Georgia Tech.  He got great enjoyment watching his grandson, Silas, play baseball and football and when he couldn’t attend the game would always call to see how he did. He looked forward to special Tuesdays lunches with his Faith cousins. He was of the Christian faith and was a member of Plainville Masonic Lodge #364 F&AM. He was a former member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple in which he  was member of the Clown unit where he enjoyed performing in parades on his Honda 50 mini trail.

Survivors include his daughter, Charissa Baker, and her husband Clint; grandchildren, Silas Baker and Birdie Baker; nephew, Chase Cassell, and a host of Faith and Walraven cousins who were more like his brothers and sisters.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 13th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating, eulogies given by cousins, Darlene Johns, and Kathy Nielsen. Music will be arranged by Gina Daniel, and Sherry Chapman.

Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery with Eddie Brannon officiating.

Pallbearers serving include Barry Walraven, Timmy Walraven, Brent Walraven, Clifford Mattos, David Robinson, and Glen Faith. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Lee, Anthony Mangum, Mike Poarch, J.D. Rogers Jr., Walt Walraven, Trent Coggins, and Trey Coggins.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home on Monday, May 12th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM
