Frances Virginia (Smith) West

Frances Virginia (Smith) West, 93, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025. She was born on September 25, 1931, to the late William Forrest and Mahalia Anne Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, MJ “Gabby” West; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Anne Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Sallie and Charlie Pharris.

Frances was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Randy Rice; grandchildren, Matthew (Kate) Rice and Eric (Sarah) Rice; great-grandchildren, Sam Rice, Willow Rice, and Leo Rice; and special friends, Eleanor Silvers and Teri Bell.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the Pavilion at Chandler Cemetery.
