Frances Jones Massingill

Frances Jones Massingill, 80, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2022. She was born on March 27, 1942, to the late James Leon Jones Sr. and Rosa Lee Brewster Jones of Cedar Bluff, Al. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Massingill in 2018, and, brothers, James Leon Jones Jr. and Jackie Lee Jones.

Prior to retirement, Frances was employed with Mohawk Industries and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.

Frances is survived by her son, Evan Massingill of Dalton, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Meleta and Ryan Hansen of Newnan, Georgia; brother-in-law, John (Juanita) Massingill of Emerson, GA, sisters-in-law, JoAnn Jones of Gaylesville, Alabama, Kathy Jones of Gaylesville, Alabama, and Evelyn Crump of Calhoun, Georgia; grandchildren, Tori Smyth and James Peters of Okeechobee, Florida Mitchell Massingill and Emily, Dustin Massingill and Terrance Massingill of Calhoun Georgia great-grandchildren, Jayden Peters, Tinley Massingill, Tristin Massingill, and Alana Massingill; nieces, Darlene and Richard McColough, Beverly Trammell; and, a nephew, Franklin Jones of Gaylesville, Alabama along with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow the visitation on Saturday, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with John Massingill officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Mitchell Massingill, Terrance Massingill, Dustin Massingill, Anthony Massingill, Mark Massingill, Robert Massingill, Neal Crump, and Dwight Ash.
