Evelyn Stone

Evelyn Stone, 98, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026. She was born on January 22, 1928, to the late Willey and Florence Woodward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Stone; son, Lonnie Stone; brothers, Wayne (Louise) Woodward and Grandvel (Willie) Woodward; daughter-in-law, Geraldine Stone; son-in-law, Frank Jones, and one grandchild.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Dale (Teresa) Stone, James Stone, and Maxie Jones; daughter-in-law, Reta Stone; ten grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Quarles officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gary Proctor, Christopher Proctor, Zak Stone, Zane Holder, Josh Stone, and Erik Stone.
