Obituary

Evelyn Maxine Womack Newberry, 83, of Calhoun, Georgia died Wednesday, September 29, 2021. She was born on December 3, 1937, in Silver Creek, Georgia to the late Roy Lee and Beulah Godfrey Womack. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Scott Womack and Archie Womack; sons-in-law, Billy Mills and Steve Barrett.
Evelyn was a loving and a very involved mother.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon (Linda) Newberry and Len (Judy) Newberry; daughters and sons-in-laws, Annette (David) Stephens, Darlene (Floyd) Groomes, Sheila Mills Barrett, and Angela Ray; sister, Shirley Redden; 25 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; several other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
The funeral will be conducted on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Dixon Holtzclaw officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Jeremy Gazerro, Austin Gazerro, Andrew Gazerro, Gregory Newberry, Stevie Lay, Brett Mills, Corey Mills, and Chad Lay. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Newberry and Brent Newberry.
