Obituary

Eugene Calven Harrell, 77, of the Rosedale Community, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was born in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, on January 8, 1945, to the late Harper and Venie Steele Harrell. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Glenn Morris.
Eugene retired from Mohawk Distribution and was a member of West Union Baptist Church. He started his career in manufacturing at Perfect Fit Industries as a servicer, and he eventually became Department Manager over weaving and beaming until it was shut down.
Eugene enjoyed riding his Harley on long trips to Arkansas and Florida and short trips around the neighborhood. He spent most of his time after retirement on his farm, where he grew lots of vegetables and spent time with his wife and grandchildren. He also volunteered at several local retirement homes, where he sang gospel songs and interacted with the residents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janie Mae Harrell; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Mary Harrell; brothers, Jesse Harrell and Ricky Harrell; grandchildren, Emma Harrell and Anna Harrell; and three children from a previous marriage.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 2:00 PM from West Union Baptist Church.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Mr. Eugene Calven Harrell.
