Obituary

Elsie Langley, 90, a well-known resident of the Sugar Valley Community and a lifelong resident of Gordon County, Georgia died Wednesday, April 6, 2022, after six months of declining health. She was born on April 4, 1932, in Calhoun, Georgia to the late C.W. (Chess) and Stella Carroll Langley. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Rayford (Red) Langley, Raymond Langley, Austin Langley, William (Dude) Langley, Edward Langley, Bonnie Morrow, and Thelma Glass.
Elsie was a graduate of Sugar Valley High School. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Mohawk Industries. She was a member of Russell Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Mattie Lee Langley; sister, Melnese Langley; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be conducted on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Thomas and Rev. Tony Coggins officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery at Hall Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Blackstock conducting graveside rites. Pallbearers are James Langley, Kevin Holsomback, Jonathan Thomas, Jason Thomas, Cody Robinson, and Skylar Robinson. Honorary pallbearers, Gary Langley, Terry Langley, Rick Grizzle, and Will Morrow. The pallbearers and Honorary pallbearers are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 PM Saturday.
