Elmer Monroe Simmons

Mr. Elmer Monroe Simmons, 83, of Dalton, Georgia died Friday, February 3, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Simmons was born in Gordon County, Georgia on March 16, 1939, the son of the late Virgil Monroe Simmons and Agnes M. Robbins Simmons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tim Conner and a brother, Johnny Simmons.

Prior to retirement he was employed by Texture-Tex in the maintenance department.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Diana Rogers Simmons; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Veit and her husband, Shawn; four sons, Gene Simmons, Steve Simmons, Joey Conner and his wife Vanessa, and Donald Conner and his wife Beth; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Danny Fennell; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; countless nieces and nephews also survive.

It was his request to be cremated and his desire that no service be held.
