Mrs. Effie Copley, age 95 of the Sonoraville Community, Rydal, Georgia, died Thursday morning, April 05, 2007 at Calhoun Health Care Center, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Copley was born on December 31, 1911 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Merida Bud Wiley and Carrie Stapleton Wiley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Copley and by a daughter, Ruth Gray. Mrs. Copley was a member of Horne Chapel Methodist Church.

Mrs. Copley is survived by a son-in-law, Rev. Bill Gray of the Sonoraville Community; two sisters; Bessie Haar of Laurens, South Carolina and Madge Ray of South Carolina; one brother; Clarence Wiley of Ocala, Florida; five grandchildren; Rev. Doug Gray, Delbert Gray, Rev. Phillip Gray, Bobby Gray and Rev. George Gray. Seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Copley will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Jones-Preston Funeral Home at Paintsville, Kentucky, with Rev. Charles Copley and Rev. George Gray officiating. Burial will follow the service in the family lot of Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville, Kentucky, with Rev. Doug Gray conducting the graveside rites. Singing will be arranged by Mrs. Delbert Gray. Pallbearers serving will include; Jimmy Mullins, Jimmy Viperman, Bill Dyer, Bill Jack Dyer, Freddie Haar and Vernon Hall.

Family owned and operated Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun, Georgia is conducting the local funeral services for Mrs. Effie Copley of the Sonoraville Community.
