Ed Williams

Edward E. Williams Jr., 63, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Indianola, Mississippi, on November 15, 1959, to the late Edward Eugene Williams Sr. and Virginia Joyce Renfro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mark Brent Muse.

Ed moved to Georgia in 1972. He later graduated from SEHS in 1977. Ed worked for carpet mills in Dalton and sold insurance for 25 years. He was an avid musician and played the saxophone. He was a member of Calhoun Community Church. His favorite title was loving Poppy to his grandgirls.

Ed is survived by his wife, Robin Wyrick Williams; mother-in-law, Mildred Burger Muse; son and daughter-in-law, Tyler Drew and Emmie Zeigler Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Lauren Williams and Ryan Matthew Bryant; granddaughters, Laney Grace Williams, Lillie Jane Williams, and baby girl Bryant; sister-in-law, Brandy Wyrick; nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 3:00 PM from Calhoun Community Church with Jerry Rice, Dwaine Shadix, Tommy Phillips, and Steve Godwin officiating. His body will lie in state at 2:00 PM until the service hour. Pallbearers serving are Tim Sexton, Brad Wahl, Clay Brown, Alfredo Reyes, Daniel Reece, Jake Koza, and Ron Norrell.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
