Edith Vance Duncan

Mrs. Edith Vance Duncan, age 86 of West Drive; Calhoun, Georgia; died Tuesday, December 05, 2006 at her residence following a heart attack.

Mrs. Duncan was born on November 14, 1920; daughter of the late John Decatur Vance and Zettie Hawkins Vance. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Baxter Duncan on August 07, 2005. Mrs. Duncan retired from the textile industry and was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Mrs. Duncan is survived by two daughters; Juanita Barth and her husband, Lee of Michigan City, Indiana; and Glenda Finley of Calhoun, Georgia. Two stepdaughters; Vickie Bohannon and her husband, Phillip of Statesboro, Georgia; Cheryl Gazaway and her husband Timmy of Dalton, Georgia. One sister-in-law; Betty Brown of Dalton, Georgia. Nephew; Kenneth Vance of North Carolina. Six grandchildren, two great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Vance Duncan will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Tim McCulley and Rev. Gary Bowman officiating. Singing will be arranged by Patsy Greeson and Greg Gallman. Pallbearers will be Jerry Boggs, Glenn Legg, Alvin Suggs, Bill Johnson, Allen Gabehart, Todd Bleckley and Henry Parrott. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Thursday evening during the hours of 6 until 9 p.m.
