Obituary

Earnestine "Tine" Bertha Shaw (Watson), 78, of Fountain, Florida, peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on January 7, 2023, at 7:35am.

Earnestine was preceded in death by parents, son Matt Shaw; brothers Tommy and David Watson; and sister Katherine Watson Simpson.

She is survived by a loving husband of 58 years, Norman Shaw, son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Karen Shaw, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Katie and Josh Shaw, the joy of her life; great-granddaughter, Georgia Rae Shaw; Sisters, Josephine Smith and Estaline Pledger, brother Daniel Watson, and special friend and "Chemo-kin" Darlene Callan. Many special cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

Earnestine was born on November 24, 1944, to Earnest and Steller Watson in Dawsonville, Georgia. After she graduated from Nacoochee School in Rabun Gap in 1962, she went on to study to become a Licensed Practical Nurse at Coosa Valley Technical School in Rome, Georgia. After graduating from LPN school, she began working at Drs. Gray, Dickinson, & Rutledges office kickstarting a successful nursing career. She was truly the hands and feet of the Lord.

In 1963, Earnestine met the love of her life, Norman, in Rome, Georgia. They got married on December 10, 1964. Earnestine and Norman went on to have 2 awesome boys, Tim and Matt.

Earnestine retired from nursing and began working in the lunchroom at Gordon Central High School for several years. She was loved by all.

December 19, 2013, at 70 years old, she and her family moved to the beautiful Florida Panhandle, where she loved working in the yard, spending time with friends, and of course, ensuring everyone was fed. She was a member of Bayou George Baptist Church, and she loved the Lord. Additionally, Tine had a special talent for crafts. She loved bird-watching and sitting on the front porch. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit, her warm hugs, and her famous fried Apple pies.

Services to celebrate her beautiful life will be held at the chapel of Max Brannon Funeral Home on Thursday, January 12th, at 11:30 AM, with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving include Nelson Smith, Tony Flowers, Danny Watson, Jonathan Smith, Justin Smith, and Tim Shaw. Friends and family can visit on Wednesday, January 11th, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity. Please give in to Earnies memory, as she loved helping others.

Until we meet again, my beautiful Grammy. What a glorious day that will be.
