Dorothy Hanks Sibley

Dorothy Hanks Sibley, 95, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. She was born in Cartersville, Georgia, on October 3, 1930. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Hanks.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sibley, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Sibley; daughter, Sarah Wilson; nephews, Bruce and Connie Stocks and family, David Hanks; nieces, Sandy and Chip Sloan and family, Jan Sterrit; grandchildren, Mia, Stephen, Carter, and Spencer; and special friend, Martha Gowens.

Dorothy spent most of her life in Adairsville, Georgia. She graduated from Adairsville High School and was on the first girls’ basketball team. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service, was a licensed cosmetologist, and prior to retirement worked at Chico’s.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Cowart officiating. Burial will be held in East View Cemetery in Rome, Georgia.
