Dewey Lee Sills

Dewey Lee Sills, 82, of Ranger, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Lindale, Georgia, on April 5, 1941, to the late Rev. Joseph Paul Sills (1921-1973) and Mary Mildred (Davis) Tidwell (1923-1952).  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William Sills (1968-2007).

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bernice Patterson Sills; children, Donnie Sills (Kim Young), Tina (Ronnie) Massingill, Brenda Sills, Kevin (Christy) Sills, Jody Parker, Lisa Parker, Tracy Parker, Robert Parker, Ricky Parker; brother, Gary (Cindy) Sills; sister, Paulette Sills, and Mary Alice (Tidwell) Cargle; grandchildren, Natalie Sills, Morgan Sills, Zachary Sills, Daniel Sills, Jeffrey Sills, Candie Mullins, Kim Cantrell, Johnathan Parker, Ashley Bunch, Timothy Parker, Angela Lupo, Justin West, Marlissa West, Brooke Williams, Emily Sills, Kayla Pierce, Christy Allen; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Dewey was a roofer and painter for many years.  He enjoyed flea markets and was a member of the gossip club at the old Wal-Mart, where they would drink coffee and tell tales.

A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from Haven of Rest Memorial Park.  Brandon Cantrell, Jeff Sills, Kevin Sills, Donnie Sills, Zachary Sills, Daniel Sills, and Natalie Sills will serve as pallbearers.
