Obituary

Mr. Samuel "Dewayne" Aldridge, 50, of Calhoun, died Thursday, February 18, 2021 in AdventHealth Gordon following three weeks of declining health.
Dewayne was born in Rome, Georgia on February 19, 1970, son of Wayne Aldridge and the late Linda Payne Aldridge. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Linda Pierce and brother-in-law, Ron Gill.
Dewayne loved his family dearly, he was a wonderful husband to Karen and daddy to Alyssa, Kimberly, Aurora and Pierce. Coached their ball teams and attended all the father-daughter dances. He enjoyed restoring and customizing Hot Wheels and had sold and shipped them world-wide. He was a graduate of Gordon Central High School and was employed by Mannington as a Hyster operator for 26 years and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Lynn Pierce Aldridge to whom he was married for 28 years, three daughters, Alyssa Aldridge, Kimberly Aldridge, Aurora Keeney; one son, Pierce Aldridge; father, Wayne Aldridge; sister, Janice Aldridge Gill; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Dawn Pierce; nephews and nieces, Michael and Nicole Davis, Harley and Shannon Gill, Deyonna Denton, Ron Gill, Wendy Martin, Shawn Denton, Breanna and Michael Brown, Slaver and Morgan Peirce, Brantson Pierce; several great-nieces, nephews; special family, Larry and Veronica Bramblett
Funeral services for Samuel Dewayne Aldridge will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Hunt and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include, Michael Davis, Harley Gill, Shawn Denton, Melvin Kimbrell, Travis Graham, William Williamson, Larry Bramblett and Justin Goforth; honorary pallbearers will include, Briley Williams, Cian Davis, Nathan Stinson, Jonathan Bynum, Matt Bynum and Cody Bynum.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 PM.
Due to COVID-19 mandated guidelines, there is limited seating in our chapel and the funeral service will be recorded and posted to our website, www.maxbrannonandsons.com after the service
It is requested that masks be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing guidelines be observed.
