Debbie Arlene Manis, 65, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away April 11, 2024, at her home surrounded by family and friends after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Calhoun on April 26, 1958, to the late Lloyd Vincent Hall and Bertha Rose Young. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Greg Hall and Vickie Rainey, and leaves behind two special brothers, Vincent Hall and Willard (Marie) Hall.
Survivors include three children whom she loved dearly: Ray (Ellen) Tate, Candie (Kevin) Medlin, and Jessica (Reggie) Goble. She also loved and spoke often of her three step-children: Wayne (Haley) Manis, Shay (Anthony) Henry, and Cody Manis. Debbie was extremely devoted to her late brother’s daughter, Allison Hall, who also called her “Momma”. She enjoyed many years of being a loving and active grandmother to her grandchildren: Chase Carter, Erika Tate, Camlyn Tate, Jessica Gilbert, Brandie Jordan, Jordan Vantrease, Paige Medlin, Micah Medlin, Braden Reece, Blake Goble, Avry Fain, Rylan Goble, Bella Goble, and Weston Goble. She was also extremely proud of her 12 great-grandchildren.
Debbie was a caregiver to many and a friend to all. She is most often described as caring more for others than for herself. Debbie was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She felt accomplished when she earned her GED and her Certified Nursing Assistant certification. She attended Living Water Ministries in Calhoun. She enjoyed crafting and shopping at Hobby Lobby, Goodwill, and the Dollar Tree. She was a loyal mother, grandmother, sister, and friend that will be missed dearly.
A Celebration of Life honoring Debbie will be held Monday, April 15, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Medlin and Rev. Reggie Goble, Debbie’s sons-in-law, officiating. Burial will follow at Crane Eater Cemetery in Calhoun. The family will receive friends on Monday prior to the service from noon until 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Chase Carter, Blake Goble, Braden Reece, Avry Fain, Rylan Goble and longtime friend, Rodney Worley.
