David Defoor

April 6, 1959 — February 18, 2007

Mr. David DeFoor, age 47, of Sugar Valley, passed away on February 18, 2007 at Gordon Hospital following several years of declining health. He was born in Whitfield County on April 6, 1959, son of Paul and Robbie Wheat DeFoor. Mr. DeFoor was preceded in death by his father, Paul DeFoor, and his grandparents, Berry and Jennie May Wheat.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Rebecca Lynn Grooms DeFoor; mother, Robbie DeFoor; sons; Kevin Fuller of Calhoun; Nick DeFoor of Sugar Valley; son-in-law, Lee Siskey; daughters; Jennie DeFoor Siskey of Sugar Valley, and daughter-in-law, Ashley Fuller of Calhoun. Brothers; Robert DeFoor of Resaca; Larry, Thomas, Jerry, and Danny DeFoor, all of Calhoun; and Jimmy DeFoor of Acworth; a sister, Penny Headrick Wolfe of Chatsworth; and two grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and aunts and uncles also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. David DeFoor will be conducted at 4:00pm on Wednesday, February 21, from the Sugar Valley Church of God, with Rev. Dwaine Shadix officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitfield County. Active pallbearers will include Darrell Newberry, Dee Gardner, Jimmy Holder, Derrick Goss, Mike Wheat, and Jerry DeFoor. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home at 3:00pm on Wednesday. Honorary pallbearers will include Nick DeFoor, Sherman Hall, and Danny DeFoor. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm.
