Obituary

Following several months of declining health, Daniel C. Tinsley, age 69 of Calhoun, passed away quietly in the early evening hours of January 30, 2022. Danny was the firstborn son of Henry Conner Tinsley, Jr, and his wife, Lurine Jones Tinsley, born on September 8, 1952. His brother, Gary P. Tinsley was born on May 31, 1956. Grandparents were Emory and Nannie Mae Jones and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. and Rosa Tinsley, Sr. Danny was educated in Calhoun City Schools and was a member of the graduating class of 1971.
In childhood and youth, Danny always seemed to have a smile. He and members of his extended family spent many happy hours together exploring woodlands, riding bikes, swimming, boating, water skiing, and roller skating at Calhoun Skating Rink which his parents built and operated for many years. He also enjoyed spending time with his neighborhood friends.
Though often a loner in much of his adulthood, Danny is fondly remembered as a quiet, kind, and fun-loving person by his Jones cousins: Tommy, Sharon, Reva, Randy, Nan, Jan, and Stephanie.
No public memorial services will be conducted nor will there be visitation at the funeral home.
