Clyde William Jones, 84, of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 14, 1942. Clyde resided in Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Bartow, and Gordon Counties throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Franklin Jones Sr. and his mother, Ethel Elizabeth Eastin Jones. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Gloria Lynne Newton Jones; brother, Charles F. Jones Jr.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Lynne (Randy) Cash, Patricia Anne (Jim) Rhinehart; sister-in-law, Nan Jones; grandchildren, Victoria L. Cash, Rebekah E. (Javonte) Boyd, Katherine A. Cash, Jamie L. (Mason) Smith, Elizabeth A. Rhinehart; great grandchildren, Alexander B. Smith, Judah J. Smith, Nola Mae R. Boyd; nieces and nephews, Frank Jones, Scott Jones, Kathy Goldreich, Lynnda Higgins, Jennifer Kluttz, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Clyde worked as an electrician for Inglett & Stubbs Inc. for over 40 years. He had a hand in new construction, remodeling, or rewiring of many of the structures in Atlanta including: the Tower Square Building, formerly known as BellSouth, The Omni, the Atlanta Courthouse, Lenox Mall, local hospitals, Fulton County Stadium, Sanford Stadium, and installed the lights on the Atlanta Christmas Tree for many years.
He had a heart for missions. In the 80's he traveled to Africa with the purpose of helping with building a bridge for the town’s people. Clyde assisted in disaster relief projects across the Southeast. He also worked with the North America Mission Board in Georgia, West Virginia, and Mississippi with World Changers, as well as participating in Splash Bartow and Splash Gordon. Clyde was Construction Coordinator on the World Changers projects, in charge of hundreds of youths and adult volunteers, each summer. The teams would paint, roof houses, build handicapped ramps for shut-ins, complete yardwork, and other tasks for the homeowners.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM from Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Adair officiating. Larry Mize will have charge of the music.
