Mrs. Cloma Collum Welchel age 74 of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Monday January 1, 2007 at Erlanger Medical Center.

Mrs. Welchel was born in Bartow County on May 5, 1932 daughter of the late James W. and Myrtle Estelle Collum. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in White, Georgia. Mrs. Welchel was preceded in death by her husband William Rayford Welchel. One daughter; Teresa Scott and two grandchildren; Billy Joel Scott and Sherry Welchel. Three brothers James, Billy and Randolph Collum and two sisters, Sue Adams and Louise Davis.

Survivors include four sons; David Collum and Rodney Welchel both of Cartersville and Larry Welchel and Harry Welchel both of Calhoun. Three daughters; Carrie Turner, Elaine Cook and Regina Brown all of Calhoun. Two brothers Roy Collum of Calhoun and Bradford Collum of Cartersville. Four sisters; Wilma Jean Grady of Waleska, Dimple Collum of Cartersville, Pearl Kimbel of Cummings and Syble Camp of Ball Ground. Twenty-five grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cloma Collum Welchel will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from the Oak Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Harley Gayton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday after 6:00 p.m.
