Charlie Stanley

Mr. Buford Charles Stanley, better known as Charlie, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 in AdventHealth-Gordon following a period of declining health.

He was born in Gordon County, Georgia on May 21, 1943, the son of the late William Baxter Stanley and Addie Carroll Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Stanley; siblings, Mabel Holbrook, Martha Roberts, Learnie Dodd, Dafie Faulkenberry, Willie Hazelwood, Wincie Raines, Bowen “Bo” Stanley, Baxter Stanley, and Virgil Stanley.

Prior to retirement he was a dedicated employee of Mannington for 40 years and he attended Sugar Valley Church of God.

Survivors include a sister, Mossie Couey of Texas and a brother and sister-in-law, Bennie (Louise) Stanley of Plainville, GA. A special nephew and great nephew, Billy and William Boswell were his caregivers.

Other survivors include, nieces, nephews, cousins along with other family members.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 6^th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev(s) Joey Henderson and Kenny Roberts officiating. Music will be arranged by Dylan Stanley. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery beside his wife, Dorothy Boswell Stanley. Pallbearers serving will include Curtis Stanley, Donald Stanley, Shane Stanley, William Boswell, Jared Raines and Gene Dunman.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 5^th at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home between the hours of 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
