Calhoun

Mr. Charles R. “Chub” Pierce, 77, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at AdventHealth Redmond following a brief illness.

Mr. Pierce was born in Calhoun, Georgia, on August 1, 1946, the son of the late Willie Pierce and Addie Greeson Pierce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Sue Waddell Pierce, and a half-brother, Ted Greeson. He was a graduate of Calhoun High School, and before retirement, he was employed by Yellow Freight as a driver and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Kevin Andrew Pierce; cousin, Marie Potts, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Loyd and Betty Conaway along with many friends and other relatives.

"Dad was always a kind and caring person who saw the best in everyone he met. I will forever remember him as the man I could always turn to, no matter my troubles or sorrows. He was someone who pointed out my mistakes but ensured I knew how to correct them and encouraged me to always strive for improvement. As a parent, he often expressed his simple desire to provide me with the kind of life he never had, and he succeeded beyond measure. I'll never fully express my gratitude to both him and Mom. Finding solace in knowing they can now be together, happy, and free from pain brings me comfort." - Kevin Andrew Pierce
