Charles Lee Mangrum Jr., 80, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023.  He was born on December 2, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Charles and Mary Mangrum Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Judith “Judy” Ann Mangrum; daughters, Tina (Preston) Thornsbury, Chrissy Mangrum, and Kristie (Mike) Jay; uncle, Greggie Crigger; grandchildren, Benjamin (Ashley) Means, Olivia Thornsbury; great-grandchildren, Owen (Kate) Means, Clay Means, Emmie Means; great-great-grandchildren, Ellie, Callie, and Finley Means.

Charles proudly served his country for eleven years in the United States Marine Corp.  He was a charter member of the Marine Corps League North Ga Mt Detachment #1280.  He was also a life member of the American Legion of Calhoun, Post #0047, and the VFW of Calhoun, Post #5376.  He was a member of the Sonora Lodge #221 F&AM, and Scottish Rite of Dayton, Ohio.  Charles attended Sonoraville Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons.  A memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons with Rev. Jamey Hunt officiating.  Military honors will be presented by the United States Marine Core and Masonic Rites will be administered by Sonora Lodge #221 F&AM.
