Obituary

Carole Guthrie, 72, of Calhoun, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 after an extended illness at home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 18, 1949 in Calhoun, Georgia to the late William Andrew "Andy" and Virginia Keith Nix. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William Nix, George Nix and Keith Nix; sister-in-law, Peggy Nix.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, J.G. Guthrie; sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Louann Guthrie and Eric and Heather Guthrie; sister and brother-in-law, Vada and Kenneth Leonard; sister-in-law Monique Nix; grandchildren, Jessica and Timothy Robertson, Olivia Guthrie, Tucker Guthrie, Rebekah Guthrie, Kyle Guthrie, Nora Kate Guthrie, Christen Guthrie, and Quinn Guthrie; her great-grand cats, Prince, Bowie, and Pearl; several friends and other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be conducted on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Gary Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ricky Nix, William Nix, Noah Gibbs, Caleb Jordan, Steve Petty, and Kevin Rickett. Honorary pallbearers, Kenneth Leonard, Kevin Leonard, and Jeff Freeman.
