Obituary

Carol Jean Yost, 77, of Flint, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. She was born on February 5, 1945, to the late Eugene (Sandra) Smith and Vera (Johnny) Krieger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Hering, brother-in-law, Dave Yazell, mother-in-law and father-in-law Vance and Fern Yost.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Dan Yost; sons, Michael (Kim) Hale of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Jason (Megan) Yost of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Matt (Mariah) Yost of Port Huron, Michigan; daughters, Tammy (Michael) Stephens of Calhoun, Georgia, and Kimberly Miller of Flint, Michigan; brother, Russell Hering of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Debbie Yazell of Gladstone, Missouri; grandchildren Christopher (Kathy) Stephens of Cartersville, Georgia, Amie (Nick) Blalock of Calhoun, Georgia, Dalton Hale of Dallas, Texas, Tre Rice of Flint, Michigan, Devonte Scott of Flint, Michigan, Mathias, Anthony, Aleena, and Zave Yost of Port Huron, Michigan, Lily, Jacob, Alyssa Yost of Grand Rapids, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Maddie Blalock of Calhoun, Georgia, Wyatt Stephens of Cartersville, Georgia, Mateo Yost of Grand Rapids, Michigan; special cousin, Mary Jewell Linn of Flint, Michigan.
She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked for several years for AC Spark Plug and later was a bartender/cook for Dort Tavern. She was a 1963 graduate of Flint Northern High School. She was the neighborhood mom to all the kids of the surrounding houses. She enjoyed eating bags of Wintergreen Life Savers and would send a card for any and all occasions. She was a member of the Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.
To honor her wishes her body was cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.
