Obituary
Mr. Carlton Fain Rogers, 81, of Sugar Valley, Georgia died peacefully while surrounded by his loving family at Advent Redmond Medical Center.
Mr. Rogers was born in Gordon County, Georgia on June 6, 1941, the son of the late A.D. and Ossie Painter Rogers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Kinsey Rogers on December 17, 2013; siblings, Willard Rogers, Arvil Rogers, Dewayne Rogers, Estalene Pulliam, Willie Mae Brown, Lucy Dilbeck, and Glenn Rogers.
Prior to retirement, he was a Bailiff with the Gordon County Superior Court and was employed by the City of Calhoun where he was a fireman and later served as the superintendent of the wastewater treatment plant. He loved his family and enjoyed good conversations with friends. He was a Christian and a Baptist. A member of the Sugar Valley Masonic Lodge # 733 F&AM, Kellogg Chapter of Royal Arch, American Legion, V.F.W and the 40 & 8.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jerry Thayer; son and daughter-in-law, James and Debra Rogers; grandchildren, Tiffany and Ted Dahlberg, Katie Rogers, Ceara, and Carter Glaze, Alex Williams, Keyleigh Thayer, Tucker Weathers; Great-granddaughter, Kinsey Dahlberg; sisters, Margaret Duvall and Alma Harbin nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Carlton Fain Rogers will be conducted Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Eddie Brannon officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Army Honor Guard. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites conducted by Sugar Valley Lodge #733 Free and Accepted Masons. Pallbearers serving include, Alex Williams, Ted Dahlberg, Carter Glaze, Tucker Weathers, Cole Edwards, Matt Schmitt, and Kagan Fleming. Honorary pallbearers will consist of the Bailiffs with the Gordon County Superior Court; Kellogg Chapter of Royal Arch # 61; American Legion and V.F.W.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 18th between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
