Obituary

Calvin Phillip Gee, 79, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away on June 20, 2021 after 2 years of declining health. He was preceded in death by his mother Nedra Olene Pitts Gee, father Clifon Orville Gee, sister Beverly Gee, and brother David Samuel Gee. Father in law Edward Riffey and mother in law Marie Riffey.
Phillip was born in Midland Texas. He then later moved to Knoxville Tennessee where he met his wife of 60 loving years. He decided to dedicate his life to the service of the Marine Corp in August 1959.
He was a loved and dedicated member of the Sonora Lodge. He was also a very active member of Echota Shrine Club. He held many offices in both organizations and loved being a part of growth within his community. He was really dedicated to providing his time and love to help anyone who needed it.
He retired from Kroger where he worked as a butcher for 38 years. He had a love for the Georgia Bulldogs, traveling to the Smokey Mountains, sightseeing, golfing and riding his gold-wing motorcycle. He really enjoyed quality time with his family, friends and loved ones. He always loved to reminisce about the good old days. Anyone who knew of him loved his sense of humor and whitty ways. To know him was to love him and he will be missed by so many. Go rest high on that mountain.
He is survived by his wife Glenda Riffey Gee, son Patrick Gee, daughter in law Beth Bratton Gee, granddaughters Braeden Gee, Raeven Gee, Haley Bratton, and Bailey Bratton. Grandson in-laws, Blake Hobgood and Justo Aguirre-Nunez.
He is survived by his sister, Sandra Lyle. He is also survived by his brother in laws, Robert Riffey and Larry Riffey. Nephews, Michael Gee Wolf, Sam Riffey, Brian Griffith. Nieces, Cheryl Lyle, Kristi Owen, Kimmie Ray. Also several other great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be conducted on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Black officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are, Blake Hobgood, Justo Nunez, Gordon Tatum, Alfred Knight, Jimmy Fox, and Terry Mathis.
