Obituary

Brenda Gayle Simerly (McCormick), 60, of Calhoun, Georgia died Sunday, December 5, 2021. She was born on April 11, 1961, in Falkville, Alabama to Lucy M Hatt. She was proceeded in death by her father, L.A. McCormick and step father, Charles Lee Hatt.
Brenda was employed by Walmart, Dalton Foam, and Mohawk/Horizon. She worked for many years with her mother on the farm. She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and crafting. She was a member of New Town Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Chasity Childers-Clark (Bryan); mother, Lucy Hatt; siblings, Connie D Desrosier, Rachel Sisson, Marie Cook, Judy McCormick, Chuck Hatt, Karen Hatt, and Lesley McCormick; grandchildren, Parrish Clark, Paxtyn Clark, Shae Scruggs (Trevor); great grandchild, Elena Scruggs; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives survive.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon will officiate. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Parrish, Bryan, and Jacob.
