Bonnie Nell Jones Smith

Mrs. Bonnie Nell Jones Smith, 88, of Sugar Valley, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. She was born on October 12, 1935, to the late Berrie and Cynthia Seritt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hobart Smith; brothers, Lee Seritt (Carmen), James Seritt (Cleo), Roy Seritt, and Jay Seritt; sisters, Fronnie Chastain (Bryd), Maybell Sitton (Ralph), Christine Quarles (Hollis), and Doris Reed (Howard).

Bonnie loved reading, working in her garden, and tending to her flowers. According to her children, she also made the best cornbread ever. She was always making someone laugh and was described as a firecracker.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Wayne Jones (Sandra), Dale Jones (Deborah), Jelita Gunn (Derek), and Rhonda White; sister, Joy Parker (Duane); sister-in-law, Charlene Seritt; grandchildren, Eric Jones, Jeannie Luna, Matthew Jones, Jessica Frick, Brian Mayton, Brandy Dennison, Ian Gunn, Christy Greeson, and Nicole Stafford; great-grandchildren, Alexander Luna, Sebastian Luna, Myles Frick, Paige Frick, Oliver Frick, Rylan Mayton, Brooklyn Mayton, Ethan Greeson, Kameron Greeson,  Hayden Stafford, and Kaiden Stafford, and great-great-grandchildren, Abel Greeson and Peyton Greeson.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregiver, Tara Willetts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Humane Society of Northwest GA, 1210 Veterans Drive, Dalton, GA 30721 or on their website, hsnwga.org.

To honor her wishes her body was cremated, and no formal service will be held.
