Billy Patterson

Mr. Billy Boy Patterson, age 68 of Sugar Valley, died Friday, July 8, 2011 at Floyd Medical Center. He was born in Hall County, GA on March 20, 1943, son of Lillie Mae Loggins Smith and the late Oscar "Bill" Patterson In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by grandparents, Wesley Patterson, and Nan and Jess Cartrell.

He had been employed in the textile industry, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sandra Cook Patterson; mother, Lillie Mae Loggins Smith of Gainesville, GA; four sons, Billy Patterson and his wife Dana, Kevin Patterson and his wife Priscilla, Gene Patterson, and David Morgan, all of Dalton; a daughter, Sandee Morgan of Resaca; and a sister, Linda Buffington of Gainesville. Grandchildren surviving are Kinsley Patterson, Cameron Maddox, Kaley Maddox, Kayla Patterson, Will Patterson, Shawn Patterson, Adrian Wade, Todd Wade, Preston Wade, Jessica Patterson, Ashley Patterson, and Gene Patterson; and a great-granddaughter, Carmon Patterson. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Boy Patterson will be held Wednesday, July 13th at 10:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. James Ghorley officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery on Hall Memorial Road. Active pallbearers are Gene Patterson, Billy Patterson, David Morgan, Tony Hunter, Josh Cook, and Stephen Jackson.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
