Obituary

Betty Lou Pierce Sertain, 77, of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, while surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Sertain was born in Calhoun, GA on December 28, 1943, the daughter of the late Grady Lee Pierce and Ora Mae Kinsey Pierce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Jean Pierce Cannon-Melford, Joanne Barrett Pierce, Claudine Pierce Brock; three brothers, Leroy Pierce, Ralph David Pierce, and his wife Kathy, Dennis Lee Pierce.
Survivors include her husband, Arnold Lee Sertain; three daughters, Sheila Mae Higgins Dyer (Wayne), Sandra Sertain Bruce (Charlie), Betty Jean Naranjo (Jesus); two sons, Jerry Lee Higgins, Randall Higgins; two sisters, Retha Mae Pierce Burns, Teresa Lavern Boudreaux (Jon Cates); one brother, Albert Pierce (Debbie), sister-in-law, Barbara Pierce; brother-in-law, James A. Sertain; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Lou Pierce Sertain will be held Sunday, September 19th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral with Rev. Rick Adcock officiating with interment to follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include David Higgins, Sidney Sims, Andrew Blas, Alfonzo Blas, Ben Jones, Adam Burns; honorary pallbearers will include Charlie Bruce, Derek Blas, and Steven McDaniel.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 19th from the noon hour until service time at 2:00 PM.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Betty Lou Pierce Sertain.
