Betty Jean Jackson

August 17, 1939 — May 3, 2023

Mrs. Betty Jean Higgins Jackson, 83, of Resaca, Georgia went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.


Mrs. Jackson was born in Whitfield County, GA on August 17, 1939, the daughter of the late Chester and Minnie Higdon Higgins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Jackson in 2018; three brothers, Johnny Higgins, Ed Higgins, and CM Higgins; Sister, Mary Lee Black. She attended Valley Point School and prior to retirement she was employed by West Point Pepperell and was a member of Full Bible Trinity Free Church.


She is survived by those she truly loved and adored, daughters, Shelia Garmon and her husband Gary, Patricia Priest and her husband Steve, Nancy Jarrett and her husband Gary; brothers, Fletcher Jackson Jr. and his wife Annette, Jackie Jackson and his wife Tina; sister; grandchildren, Mark Priest, Leia Putnam, Angie Crowder, Kim Priest, Katie Buchanan Jason Garmon, Josh Jarrett, Gary Jarrett Jr; great-grandchildren, Jacob Jarrett, Katlin Foubert, Hannah Priest, Felecia Taylor, Desharra Long, Tyler Putnam, Brandon Putnam, Hannah Brookshire, Sarah Crowder, Chloe Crowder, Sadie Buchanan, Buck Buchanan; Great, great-grandchildren, Cheston Ashlocke, Coleman Reeves, Jackson Taylor, Braxton Taylor, Chazlynn Foubert, Porter Foubert, Lakelynn Foubert and Breonna Foubert; sister, Shirley Kirby,and brother-in-law, Rev. Jimmy Black.


Funeral services for Mrs. Jackson will be conducted Saturday, May 6th at 3:00 PM from Full Bible Trinity Free Church, 522 Eber Road, Dalton, Georgia 30720, with Rev. Gary Jarrett and Rev. Bobby Putnam officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.


Pallbearers serving will include Joshua Jarrett, Gary Jarrett Jr., Mark Priest, Brian Crowder, Austin Foubert and Tyler Putnam. Jason Garmon will serve as alternate.


The family would like to express their gratitude to Homespun Hospice for their love and care of Betty.


The family will receive friends at Full Bible Trinity Free Church, Friday after 3:00 PM. and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour of 3:00 PM.
