Obituary

Betty Jean King Dutton of the Scottsville Community joined her husband in heaven on their 71st wedding anniversary November 10, 2022. She passed away at Advent Health Gordon from a brief illness. She was born on February 16, 1932, in Floyd County to the late Dallas and Nina King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Waymon Hoyt Dutton; daughter, Juanita Lynn Dutton; sisters, Edna Brown and Brenda Easterwood; brother, Jerry King.
Betty was a lifelong member of Erwin Hill Church of God. She loved being around her family. She was a wonderful cook and loved sewing for other people. She loved camping, gardening, and canning for her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Fowler and her husband Gary and Kris Reece and her husband Patrick; grandchildren, Zachary Grantham and his wife Stacy and Emily Reece and her boyfriend Will Hawkins; great grandchildren, Cayden, Carson, and Callie Grantham; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral will be conducted on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at 3:00 pm from Erwin Hill Church of God with Dr. James Shope and Rev. Jeff Dutton officiating. Burial will follow in Erwin Hill Church of God Cemetery with Rev. Sean Belcher conducting graveside rites. Pallbearers are, Zachary Grantham, Cayden Grantham, Jeremy Dutton, Steve King, Will Hawkins, and Grant Hollingsworth.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at The Fountains Calhoun, where Betty resided for the past 16 months.
