Bessie Jane Cook

Mrs. Bessie Jane Cook, 79 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Gordon Health Care, following several years of declining health. She was born in Macon, GA on March 20, 1936, daughter of the late J.G. and Euphie Adams Cummings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Junior Boswell; a brother, George Cummings; and a sister, Carolyn Summerall.

Mrs. Cook had been employed with Crown Craft and Echota Fabrics.

Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Jim Cook; her daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie Cummings of Fort Valley, GA, Lesa and Troy Moody of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Rita and Shane Faulkner of Calhoun; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Rosa Cummings of Fort Valley; sisters and brother-in-law, Jeanelle and Mack Martin, and Janey Carney, all of Forty Valley; grandchildren, Kham Cummings, Jody Cummings, Logan Moody, Lea' Pollak, Alex Hadden, and Reilly Faulkner; 10 great-grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren. Other survivors include a step-son, Wade Russell; step-daughters, Kelly Richardson, and Alesia Chester; and devoted friend, Joel Ostuw.

Services to honor the life of Mrs. Bessie Jane Cook will be held Saturday, September 26th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Shane Faulkner, Alex Hadden, Logan Moody, Troy Moody, Wade Russell, and Chris Pollak.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September 25th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
