Obituary

Barbara Pauline Murphree Ward, 85, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at her residence following six months of declining health.
She was born in Hanceville, Alabama, on November 1, 1936, the daughter of the late Leonard and Eva Bowling Murphree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Betty Jo Landers, DeEtte Higginbotham, Lorene Strickland, and Evelyn Albritton; two brothers, Edscol Murphree and Cecil Murphree.
Mrs. Ward was of the Christian faith and was a Baptist, and prior to retirement, she was employed by Whites Hardware as a secretary. She was an avid Georgia bulldog fan.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Bryant and her husband David; two sons, Kenneth Michael Ward and Mitchell Wayne Ward and his wife Jeannie; grandchildren, Kayla Ward, Kenny Ward, Brandon Ward, Erica Ward, Matthew Ward, Michael Thigpen, John Thigpen, Christy Bryant, and Colie Bryant Arseneau; Thirteen grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Barbara Pauline Murphree Ward will be held Wednesday, October 12th at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Gay officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Chris Blalock, Eddie Murphree, Billy Murphree, Richard Shearouse, Boddy Lee, and Phillip Murphree.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 12th, between the hours of 10:00 am and 12:00 Noon at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home.
