Obituary

Barbara Ann Holden, 85, of Calhoun, Georgia died Friday, January 28, 2022, after a month of declining health. She was born on August 10, 1936, in Calhoun, Georgia to the late Willie and Thelma Alred James. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Holden; sisters, Lounette Robertson, and Norma Patricia James.
Barbara retired from Mohawk. She enjoyed coloring, puzzles, her neighbors, and especially her children. She was a member of South Calhoun Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry (Gloria) Holden; daughters and sons-in-law, Pat (Kevin) Phipps, Nina (David) Ables, Retha (Doug) Phillips, and Sharon (Joey) Walraven; sister, Jackie Prather; grandchildren, Ashley Kinsey, Erin (Brian) Hearn, Bradley (MacKenzie) Patterson, Stephanie Walraven, Shanda (Patrick) Cadden, Christian Walraven, Jacob (Lindsey) Phipps, Paige (Zach) Holder, DJ (Lindsay) Ables, Weston (Samantha) Walraven, Tracy (Brady) Arp, Jamie (Destiny) Phillips; 13 great grandchildren; eleven nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Her body will lie in state Monday, January 31, 2022 from 12 noon until the service hour at Antioch Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 1:00 pm from Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Lamar Bearden. Burial will follow in Blackwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Phipps conducting the graveside rites. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
