Arlette Suzanne Pasdeloup Smith, 87, gained her heavenly wings on Monday, March 25, 2024, after several years of declining health, especially the last couple of months.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend of the Plainville, Georgia community.

Arlette was born in St. Mihiel, France, on February 10, 1937, to Henri and Marie Pasdeloup.  In addition to her parents, she is joining her beloved husband, Fred (Buster) Smith; daughter, Lyne Brincefield and her husband Daniel Brincefield; a wonderful brother, Marcel Pasdeloup; and her very special friend, Roy Gravitt.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Brandy West, Lucinda Koon, Lisa Jacks, Misty Rogers, Tristen York, and Ember McGill.  They would like to extend a very special thank you to Meka, Tia, Sasha, and the other staff members at Ridge Manor in Calhoun, and the staff of Homespun Hospice, for the loving care that they showed Arlette.

Arlette met Buster while she was working at a snack bar on the American Base in France, while Buster was serving his country in the United States Army.  They were married in France, had their 1st child there, and 6 months later, they moved to the United States.  They were married for 34 years, during which time they had 3 additional children that they loved with their whole heart.  Everyone that knew Arlette loved her and loved listening to her French accent.  She was a wonderful homemaker, loved her neighbors and her community.  Her yard was always beautiful with flowers that she loved planting and sharing with her loved ones.  She especially loved all her furbabies.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church in Plainville, Georgia, where she had been a longtime member. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM with Bro. Smith Family Cemetery.  Pallbearers serving are Norris Gravitt, Eric Gravitt, Jamie Koon, Jase Koon, Skyler West, and Alex Barnes.  Lamar Gravitt will serve as an Honorary pallbearer.
