Ann Witt, 77, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025. She was born in Calhoun, Georgia on May 21, 1948, to the late Thurman and Nena Holcomb Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hilburn Bennett.
She was a member of the Calhoun High School graduating Class of 1966. After a decade of dedicated service as a lunchroom worker at Gordon Central through the Gordon County School System, she chose to return home full-time to support her husband on the farm and raise their children. She and Billy were married on March 3, 1967, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and devotion. A wonderful wife and mother, she adored her grandchildren and found joy in the simple pleasures of cooking, canning, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, William “Billy” Witt; sons and daughters-in-law, Kelvin and April Witt, Jason and Carrie Witt; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Brent Boston; and many grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow on Thursday at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blackwood Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brent Boston, Josh Boston, Stacey Hughey, Stephen Ralston, Joe Darby, and Johnny Gresham.
