Obituary

Mr. Alton Gene Ellis, 82, of Fairmount, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at his residence.
Mr. Ellis was born in Floyd County, Georgia on January 19, 1939, son of the late Robert Lee Ellis and Zula Mae Hall Ellis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Angel in 2021. Prior to retirement, he was self-employed as a logger. He was of the Christian faith and a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Baldwin Ellis to whom he was married for 22 years; three daughters, Sandra Goodwin (Barry) of Calhoun, Susan Hall of Fairmount, and Stacy Silvers (Calvin) of Oakman; stepdaughter, Jamie Hutchens (Tommy) of Sugar Valley, GA., two step-sons, Timmy Parker of Calhoun, and Joey Fowler of Fairmount; two brothers, Joe Ellis (Kathy) of Calhoun and Charles Ellis (Jeanette) of Calhoun; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, along with other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Alton Gene Ellis will be conducted Monday, October 25th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Talley officiating.
The Ellis family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 24th between the hours 0f 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
