Alma Baker, 88, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on August 5, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Gordon County, on June 11, 1937, to the late John and Sue Junkins Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Jack Baker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doyle (Ella) Cox, Lloyd (Nina) Cox, Matthew (Ann) Cox, Calbert Cox, Hanlan Cox, Billy (Pat) Cox; sister and brother-in-law, Marie (Mack) Silvers.
Alma was a Christian and loved her friends and family dearly. She had a servant’s heart, always putting others before herself.
She is survived by her daughters, Gail (Sammy) Godfrey, Tammy (Paul) Sneed, Glenda (Ken) Dinning, Sandy (Kevin) Cashon; stepsons, Joey (Kim) Baker, Steve (Sharon) Baker; stepdaughters, Diane Kirk, Glenda Baker; sister-in-law, Nancy Cox; grandchildren, Chris (Candace) Godfrey, Amanda (Jeremy) Schwanbeck, Kelly (Andrew) Preece, Jonathan Dinning, Shea (Myriah) Sneed, Shannon Sneed, Emily (Austin) Nimon, Heather (Matthew) Hudgens, Autumn Cashon, Avery (Katherine) Cashon; 23 great-grandchildren; special friend, Phyllis Pendley; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Thomas and Rev. Keith Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Chris Godfrey, Avery Cashon, Shea Sneed, Andrew Preece, Matthew Hudgens, Jeremy Schwanbeck, Jonathan Dinning, and Austin Nimon.
