Zelda Wilson Spearman

Mrs. Zelda Wilson Spearman, 77 of Sugar Valley, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at her home following several weeks of declining health. She was born In Whitfield County on August 14, 1938, daughter of the late Milton and Lille Gertrude Gazaway Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, H.M. Wilson, Jim Wilson, and Glenn Wilson.

Mrs. Spearman was a hairdresser for 30 years. She loved to quilt and was known as a great cook. She was a member of Swamp Creek Baptist Church.

She leaves behind her husband of 60 A years, Charles V. Spearman; sons and daughter-in-law, Boyd and Teri Spearman, and Randy Spearman, all of Calhoun; daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Michael Carnes, and Denise Miller, all of Calhoun; a sister, Hilda Lau of Calhoun; grandchildren, Savanna Miller, Brandy Byers, Milika Conner, Cyrus Bennett, Derek Spearman, John Spearman, and Lance Cox; and great-grandchildren, Cody Green, Emma Bennett, Harleigh Spearman, and Kassidy Spearman.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Zelda Wilson Spearman will be held Thursday, July 23rd at 2:00 PM from the Swamp Creek Baptist Church in Carbondale, with Rev. Wayne Marcus officiating. Interment will follow in Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Bo Nicholson, Ben Miller, Cyrus Bennett, Scott Wilson, Cody Green, Derek Spearman, and Kenny Conner.

The Spearman family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday, July 22nd from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

The family would like to thank Heyman HospiceCare for their comfort and compassion for Mrs. Spearman during her illness.
