Mrs. Wincie Stanley Raines, 87 of Sugar Valley, GA died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her home. She was born in Jackson County, AL on September 16, 1927, daughter of the late William B. (Bill) and Addie Lou Carroll Stanley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia West; brothers, Virgil Stanley and Bowen Stanley; sisters, Learnie Dodd and Martha Roberts; and a great-grandchild, Jessica Raines.

Mrs. Raines had been a member of Sugar Valley Church of God since August 21, 1948.

She leaves behind her husband of 69 years, Bud Raines; her son and daughter-in-law, David and JoAnn Raines of Sugar Valley; her daughters and sons-in-law, Janie and Gene Dunman of Dahlonega, Bobbie and Max Johns of Nickelsville, Karen Greeson of Sugar Valley, and Leslie and Michael Wilbanks of Sugar Valley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Baxter and Mary Lee Stanley of Calhoun, Bennie and Louise Stanley of Plainville, and Charlie and Dorothy Stanley of Calhoun; and sisters, Willie Hazelwood of Plainville, Daffie Faulkenberry of Sugar Valley, Mossie Couey of Van, Texas, and Mabel Holbrook of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Becky Quinn, Jimmy Morris, Josh Raines, Beth Petty, Jared Raines, Stewart (Bubba) West, Hunter Wilbanks, and Garrett Wilbanks; and great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Quinn, Cameron Quinn, Jeremiah Petty, Emily Morris, Jake Raines, Matthew Petty, Joey Raines, and August Raines. Step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Services to honor the life of Mrs. Wincie Stanley Raines will be held Saturday, June 27th at 11:00 AM from the Sugar Valley Church of God, with Rev. Dwaine Shadix, Rev. Junior Clayton, and Rev. Kenny Roberts officiating. Mrs. Raines' body will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Music will be arranged by Tim Baird, Shelia Clayton, and Brenda Holsomback. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Church of God Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Jerry Calihan, Lonnie Walker, Kevin Holsomback, Jeff Young, Jack McGaskey, and Randy Johns.

The Raines family will receive friends at the Sugar Valley Church of God, Friday, June 26th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
