Willie Stanley Hazelwood "Ma" ,99, a longtime member of the Plainville community died Monday, March 30, 2020. She was born on January 2, 1921 in Gilmer County to the late Bill and Addie Carroll Stanley. She was proceeded in death by her husband Moses Ezekiel "Zeke" Hazelwood in December of 1985; several siblings also proceeded her in death.
She was a member of Shannon Church of God Prophecy.
She is survived by her children, Debra and Michael Walraven, Michael and Patricia Hazelwood, and Janet Howard; brothers and sister-in-law, Charlie Stanley and Bennie and Louise Stanley; sisters, Mable Holbrook and Mossie Couey; grandchildren, William Howard, Angie Ray, Dena Witherow, and Becky Lawler; great grandchildren, Kelby, Emily, Elaina, Miles, and Zeke; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
A graveside service to honor Willie "Mas" life will be held at Scott Cemetery, Thursday, April 2, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation. The family encourages everyone to consider their safety and the safety of others and practice social distancing if choosing to attend the graveside service.
A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
